Generally speaking, when it comes to Christmas music, the average listener either loves it or absolutely abhors it. Both of these views are understandable. Anyone who has worked a retail job will surely grow to hate it after listening to “Rocking Around The Christmas Tree” for the thirtieth time before December has even begun. Most Christmas music is awful. You might think that this Christmas album is particularly awful, and that's okay.

Thing is, Christmas music doesn't NEED to be awful. When done right, a good Christmas song makes you feel all warm and cozy. It might bring back rose-tinted childhood memories. It might make you think of a loved one. It might remind you of bad times, too. The Holidays are messy.

Is Christmas too commercial? Is it too religious? Not religious enough? A gigantic month-long headache? The answer to all of those questions, I believe, is “Yes.” And maybe those contradictions are what makes it so great.

I've spent the past ten years secretly recording Christmas songs and releasing them through eight volumes with the stupidest cover art I can come up with. I have done this primarily to entertain my wife and my nephew, who comprise most of my fan base. But this year I thought it would be fun to share these songs with the rest of the world.

So here you have it: Kriva's Christmas Doorbusters Deluxe, 20 songs of varying length and quality haphazardly smashed together into a single collection for your listening discernment. I hope it brings you joy.

A lovely little collection of field recordings set to evocative musical ambience. I have a personal interest because I like to field record the sea / water against music. I love the hint of a cityscape on 'Gathering', and the building rain storm on 'Change' is beautiful headphone ear candy. Good work! neily123
